Lynne has served on the Board of YWCA Canada for 5 years. She co-chaired the development of our organizational standards and currently serves as President of the National Board. She is a past president of YWCA Vancouver, where she completed two 6-year terms on its Board of Directors.
Lynne has a long history of community service, particularly at the leadership level. She has been elected to political office as Alderman & School Board Trustee and received appointments as Recreation Commissioner & College Board Trustee. She has served in a number of leadership roles including: President of Winning Women (committee for political skills for women), President of the B.C. Medical Association Alliance, Founder and Treasurer of Discovery House Daycare, Co-Chair of the Vancouver Asian Youth Task Force and Chair of the Vancouver Coastal Region Transition Council for the BC Ministry of Children and Families. She is currently President of the Learning Disabilities Association of Vancouver, a director of the Learning Disabilities Association of BC and a director of the Child & Family Research Institute at Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.
Lynne has an Honors Degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto, Conflict Resolution Certificate from the Justice Institute of B.C. & Early Childhood Education from the College of New Caledonia. She spent most of her working life managing the private medical practice of her husband of 41 years. They have 2 adult children and 5 pretty special grandchildren.
