Have you ever been in a relationship with a friend or significant other (someone who is your boyfriend, girlfriend, partner, friend with benefits, etc.) that didn’t always feel right?
Do you feel picked on or put down by that person at times? Or maybe you wonder if this person should be in your life anymore? Do you wonder if you love them? Maybe you feel a bit scared at times, maybe the whole thing feels like a roller coaster.
Asking yourself questions about what is happening around you is a normal part of life and a normal part of growing up! While we cannot give you the answers to all of your questions, we can help you answer whether or not your relationship is healthy - and that’s a pretty great place to start!
The Is Our Relationship Healthy? brochure is a new resource produced in consultation with girls and young women across the country, with content and language are reflective of how youth are seeing and experiencing dating and relationships today.
Through this resource we will:
Step one: Learn what healthy and unhealthy relationships are (and are not!), and what abuse is;
Step two: Do a quick quiz to evaluate your relationship(s);
Step three: Look at what help looks like if you need it
Step four: All relationships have to start somewhere: We’ll give you some tips for dating safely!
What young women are saying:
“Healthy relationships are the ultimate foundation of human functionality as a group on this planet, and so teaching the next generation of leaders how to have healthy interpersonal relationships is of the utmost importance.”
“I felt that the brochure was beneficial. Even after experiencing unhealthy relationships, it still had parts that I felt were very informative and helpful. Both my boyfriend and I felt that this was a good thing to go over and talk about together.“
“Toxic relationships aren’t always obvious, so understanding healthy relationships and how they work is key.”
