YWCA Canada is hosting our first Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon!

Published on 19/02/2021 by Rebecca Pacheco

How many times have you Googled a badass woman from history who has improved the lives of women in your community, who was a trailblazer, shifted the needle on gender equity and women’s rights only to find… No entries.

Well, we are doing something about it. Join us as part of YWCA 150: Look Back, Push Forward as we put those women and gender-diverse folks on the map on the web.

We have partnered with Art+Feminism, an incredible organization and international community that is closing the information gap about gender, feminism, and the arts on the internet, with a focus on Wikipedia.

So far we have already made some amazing edits and pages and are excited to see what else we are able to achieve!

The event is running from February 13th to March 8th, 2021.

Check out our social media for updates, cool resources, and our closing event on March 8th.

If you are interested in learning more or participating in the event or nominating someone please email us at projects@ywcacanada.ca
